Highlights and Lowlights

I have to spend an awful lot of my time during the day on an instant messenger service to work, as well as stay sane.  It's been that way for many years now, and is not likely to change.  In addition to the dozens of productive contacts I keep, there are several regulars with whom I pass the time in more...creative...conversation.  Times change, communities come and go, rules are adjusted, the pace of the day is never predictable.  But the conversations go on, because the Instant Messenger is so suited to it.  You can wait an hour or more between comments, catch up, review, share, and even look things up to stay involved.  Mr. Blue used to announce that he was saving certain lines and sessions, and I eventually saw the wisdom in that and started to too...to a much more extensive degree, AND started distributing them.  Why?  They were FUNNY.  And CLEVER.  And INTERESTING.  And they were being lost and forgotten, every day, when the magic window was closed.  Oh sure, the logs were still there, but no one ever went to look at the things because no one remembered what was in them.  When I started, in ernest, collecting "bits" from the day, I was alarmed to see how much there could be.  Oh sure...some days were a complete wash, but others?  Pages and pages of goodies written off the cuff!  Too good not to edit (a little), sanitize, and post somewhere.
"No one will read it," states Mr. Blue
"Eh...never know," I returned.
So here we go...into the uneven world of my Instant Mess
